The end of May is a transitional time for an outdoor wedding. Kathleen and Ryan were to marry in an outdoor ceremony, as well as dine al fresco, at the beautiful Villagio Hotel & Spa in Yountville – Napa Valley. However, as the morning progressed, the clouds built up, the skies opened and it started to pour!!!  Plan B went into effect (naturally I had Plan B “in my pocket”)! The staff of Villagio-Vintage Estates rose to the occasion and worked quickly and efficiently to transform spaces so we could hold the ceremony inside a beautiful room with an inviting fireplace. The original ceremony floral design was adapted to fit the fireplace configuration –  the results were just gorgeous!  And as luck would have it… immediately after the “I Dos” the clouds parted, the sun came out and photography could take place.  Rather than dining al fresco, due to the weather change, we continued with Plan B and switched to hold the dinner reception in The Historic Barrel Room  – perfection!  Kathleen did a terrific job of personally selecting the linens and china.  We used two sizes of tables – the square table was dressed in a stripped linen, and the round tables in a damask. Each place setting had a square white charger with the “Spoke” starter plate and each table had a unique floral centerpiece in shades of red and deep pink.  As a guest book, guests signed a Magnum wine bottle (Ryan arranged for a metal plate with their wedding invitation to be affixed to the front of the bottle.)   Kathleen and Ryan enjoyed some time in the photo booth and a rockin’ party happened until the wee hours.  What rain??
