Gold Country
Our couple from Oregon , fascinated by history and architecture, selected the beautiful historic Empire Mine in Grass Valley for their late summer wedding. The natural setting of green rolling hills and towering oak and pines was perfect to showcase the yellow roses the bride loves.
An original stone wall was the backdrop for the wedding cake and framed display of the engagement photos. Centerpieces were wrought iron lanterns, reminiscent of what may have been used in the mansion of the wealthy mine owner. Yellow roses encircled the lanterns and adorned the cake. Each place setting tag, tied onto a railroad spike, indicated the assigned table; tables were named after Mother Lode mines that produced a million dollars or more of ore, gold or silver.
