I absolutely LOVED the look, feel, vibe of Ken and Marjan’s wedding day.  As fairly new transplants to Sacramento they were drawn to the history and architecture of Old Sacramento – and thus selected Courtyard D’Oro for their wedding. Being nature lovers and non-traditional people we designed the ceremony in-the-round anchoring the space with a lovely aspen ceremonial framework. Purple was the color for the day; the bridesmaids wore different dress designs in two shades of purple and Ken found perfect ties for his groomsmen. After a First Look, photos were then taken in various spots of Old Sac.  Marjan honored her Persian ancestry by putting a minimal twist to the Sofreh Aghd – she displayed the symbolic items on small tables at the 4 legs of the aspen framework.  The dining room space was bathed in purple and amber up-lights; tables held natural elements of varying heights and unique glassware/vases.  Green water glasses and wooden chargers on the deep purple linens made for an “earthy” feel and I loved how we displayed the menu card in a side napkin fold showing the printed fork.  Cute!  No wedding cake for this couple, but rather a fabulous ice cream sundae station.  The first bite was a spoonful of wedding ice cream in their personal bowl.  My gift to them was the engraved spoons with wedding date and “I Scream, You Scream” – so fun!
