The busy bride turned to wedding planner Lora Ward of A Day to Remember to assist in designing and orchestrating her nuptials. Tori was studying to be a sign language interpreter; sign language was more than a career – it was a driving passion in Tori’s life. So we came up with the idea to incorporate hands into the wedding.”

Photoshoot – Nostalgic Tablescapes
What a fun photo shoot – I envisioned the concept of the bride and groom wanting to marry at her Grandmother’s farmhouse in the country, and utilize the huge old barn for their dinner. The bride would dig through her Grandmother’s linen closet to find the vintage Quaker Lace tablecloth, select some specific pieces of china and stemware out of the hutch, and set it all up on the sturdy wooden dining table with mis-matched chairs, which were dragged out to the barn. And don’t you know, the bride’s Aunt made the jam and Grandma created the delicious pies!Read the Article (PDF)

As a consultant, I have to find out what my clients’ priorities are. In the extreme case of a mother trying to design her daughter’s wedding, I try to get a balance of the two. I urge brides to think about their battles. Don’t look back on a decision that was made; once it’s done it’s done. You’ve got to concentrate on what the wedding day is about. You can’t keep worrying that your mom wanted ecru paper for the invitations and you wanted white.
