The Sacramento area often has warm summer evenings. Ashley & Sean wanted an exciting, vibrant color scheme and so by using red, yellow, fuchsia and orange, the wedding theme developed of Hot August Nights (no poodle skirts were present!) The dramatic fabric backdrop to the ceremony was replicated for the cake and small bites dessert table, and the ceremonial aisle featured ribbon spheres with flowing tails. Indian Wedding Bells hung which guests rang upon the Kiss! Sean is Irish and a proud firefighter, so we added elements to the wedding to give honor to his profession. A bag piper and drummer escorted our couple into the reception. What an exciting thrill, and there were a few wet eyes in the crowd. As gardeners they had a full bounty of summer vegetables, which the chef at Granite Bay Golf Club happily took and created perfectly grilled seasonal veggie platters. And believe it or not, I asked Sean to surprise Ashley by using his clean and polished firemans ax to cut the wedding cake! A surprise for the guests was the use of a vintage fire truck for a get-away could there be a more perfect ending and send-off for this fun couple?
