When a past client takes the time to e-mail me… on the evening of their wedding anniversary, and makes me feel all squishy and happy, well, I have to share. This is why I love my job and my couples. Happy 3rd Anniversary Kevin & Liz… you have such a full life ahead of you!
~an excerpt from Kevin’s e-mail to me… “Today is our THIRD Anniversary. We have spent the evening watching slideshows of our wedding and enjoying expensive wine! We are so thankful to you for your amazing talents and skills making our day so great. Thank you! You will always be a special part of our lives! Married life has been great to us and we thank you over and over for making it possible. “
Kevin and Liz married May 12, 2012 in Amador County at the gorgeous Karmere Winery, Plymouth, CA. Liz will enjoy Mother’s Day tomorrow… and she’ll enjoy their First Wedding Anniversary on the same day!! LOVED this couple… the kindest, sweetest and so-so compatible. It was truly an honor to work with them.
The color palette was Robin’s Egg Blue with Eggplant. Perfect! Liz and Kevin wanted a cocktail style party with strolling, munching (Mac & Cheese martini bar and chocolate mousse… yummmmm), and lots of dancing.
Loved their Wish Tree, where guests wrote sentiments and best wishes on pretty individual cards.
Is Liz gorgeous or what?
And one more note… this wonderful couple will not be spending their anniversary together. Kevin has been serving for several months in Afganistan (thank goodness for the occasional Skype.) Thank you Kevin for your service to our country. HAPPY FIRST ANNIVERSARY KEVIN & LIZ!!
Kevin, a U.S. Army man stationed in Tennessee contacted me to assist with long distance wedding planning. After we chatted and I heard quite a few “M’ams” (good boy), then I had more indepth conversations with Liz. I adored this couple; so easy to work with and please. Liz was extremely laid back and Kevin was only too happy to marry his high school sweetheart. Liz had the color palette nailed down -“eggplant and robin’s egg blue” and their venue was selected – Karmere Winery in Amador County (both went to high school in San Andreas and knew the area well). This is Karmere Winery’s ceremonial area, with no decor – gorgeous, right?
And here we are for Liz and Kevin’s wedding ceremony. Notice how we incorporated the theme of the landscape topiaries into the existing aisle urns. Floral designer Dawn of Natural Flair is so clever and talented -these look terrific – as all her floral creations did for this wedding.
A great friend played a vintage accordian as Liz walked down the aisle – it was fun, unique and sweetly sentimental.
Not wanting a traditional wedding reception, but more of a strolling party with finger foods, Beth Sogaard Catering whipped up fantastic pulled pork sliders, fresh tomato bruschetta, and a heavenly creamy macaroni and cheese martini bar – with all the fixin’s. For dessert Liz requested chocolate mousse to be served with the wedding cake – fantastic!!
My gift to my couples – this set of vintage forks read “I Do Me Too” – so cute!
Their Wish Tree “guest book” was a big hit and I loved how Dawn created hanging lies as a nod to their honeymoon destination.
The end to a glorious evening, and the beginning of a wonderful married life!
And many thanks to Jordan of Jordan Zink Photography for being on hand to capture all the pretties!
I’m long overdue at getting this post up – and I wish to brag about the awesomeness of Liz and Kevin. Thought I might break up my posts into a few segments just ‘cuz this wedding was very, very pretty and I want to give some love to Kevin & Liz who are two of the nicest people I’ve ever met.
Let’s start off with Liz just a couple of hours before her First Look of Kevin. Hair, make-up and pre-wedding photography taken at the quaint Volcano Union Inn in the “booming” town of Volcano, Amador County, CA. Then a limo ride to Karmere Winery in Plymouth for the wedding.
Liz’s make-up artist was Malenda Wallis-Boykin… who did a terrific job. Liz doesn’t wear make-up normally and was a bit nervous about looking “made-up.” So, what do you think? Gorgeous!! Those eyes…
And the First Look…ahhhhh, so sweet!
I’ll do a second post in a few more days… you’ll want to see more of the beautiful floral creations made by Dawn Roberti of Natural Flair Floral Design. Thanks to Jordan Zink Photographer for doing such a great job capturing all the details – always!
Last month Liz and Kevin made a trip from Washington State to meet me (for the very first time in months of planning) and to take care of some weddings to-dos. I really, really like this pair. Solid, sweet, fun and devoted to each other. On the to-do list was to also meet their photographer and have their e-session. Being nature lovers, Jordan Zink of Jordan Zink Photography, took them to Folsom along the American River and the Rainbow Bridge for some very pretty shots.
And dear, goofy, funny Kevin… you just had to ham it up for the camera, eh?
Looking forward to May 12th for a fabulous wedding day. Their first request was – NO traditional wedding and reception. We want a p-a-r-t-y. You got it! Karmere Winery in Amador County is going to be the happen’ place.
Another delightful couple we get to work with in 2012! Kevin is serving in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Tennessee. In November he finds me while websurfing and after great conversations (he called me “Ma’m” a lot), I’ll be planning his wedding to Liz – to be held at Karmere Winery in Amador County in May. In December they moved to Washington State to get Liz set up in a home near family, as Kevin will be leaving for Afganistan right after the wedding. Whew…and I thought my life gets hectic at times. Meet Liz & Kevin –
And this is Karmere Winery, outside of Plymouth, CA in Amador County… such a unique and very pretty wedding venue.
