This wedding and reception was held in one of the prettiest backyards I’ve ever seen. When the groom built his home and designed the slopping back yard, people would drop by and ask if a community park was being developed! It is that beautiful. After a sweet First Look, the couple wandered the winding pathway downward to the pond where the ceremony took place. A unique “alter” arrangement was created which was designed using a soft and flowing fabric shade covering with an asymmetrical floral tower anchoring the space. Post ceremony, guests enjoyed an open bar and appetizers and eventually made their way back up the hill for an alfresco patio dining experience. The bride asked if their mutual love and participation in triathlons could be incorporated – hence the fun cocktail napkins! The color palette was metal and deep shades of red and working with the patio space, we used two shapes of tables. Each table was named after their four dogs and included a photo of their furry “children.” As a surprise to the couple I researched a variety of quotes which I had printed in hand-calligraphy on the menu cards – the guests loved sharing aloud! With an intimate group of very close family and friends, the level of love and frivolity was evident.
