The magnificent Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento, CA was the site for Allison and John’s August wedding where “the colors of a sunset” was the theme. The bridesmaids wore crimson and carried clutches of vibrant orange, red and yellow roses. The Crocker is a fantastic mansion, and the actual ballroom was the site for the ceremony. The hand-painted baroque ceiling was in aqua, so we brought in touches of blues with ribbon and fabric on the aisle treatment and the lush alter arrangements. But outside on the courtyard patio, Sunset Warmth was very evident. We even projected a colorful setting sun on the mansion walls. I loved the unusual table treatment the florist created by making a runner effect of striations of sunset hued petals, and each table was named after a famous artists whose works were hung in the Crocker Museum. Even the wedding cake picked up on the theme by having a collection of Southwest suns piped on each layer. Very cool.
